Sammlung Goetz is an internationally renowned and highly prestigious collection of contemporary art. It was founded in 1993 by the collector Ingvild Goetz and today includes more than 5000 works from nearly all artistic genres. In 2018, Sammlung Goetz celebrated its 25th anniversary with a three-part exhibition dedicated to artistic creations by women. On display were nearly 200 works, ranging from drawings, photographs, paintings and sculptures to films and extensive installations by artists such as Carla Accardi, Geta Brătescu, Lucy Dodd, Ellen Gallagher, Katharina Grosse, Jennifer Guidi, Haegue Yang, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kasten, Yayoi Kusama, Rebecca Morris, N. Dash, Paulina Olowska, Carol Rama, Pipilotti Rist, Sister Mary Corita Kent, Jessica Stockholder, Rosemarie Trockel, Pae White and Andrea Zittel.
The raw linen book jacket is overprinted with a drawing by Rosemarie Trockel. The inside is distinctly divided into three sections showcasing the exhibitions that took place at the Sammlung Goetz building by Herzog de Meuron as well as in Haus der Kunst in Munich. A fourth section, standing out on uncoated paper, shows the collection’s history. Referring to a design identity from the collection’s very beginning, we developed a bold graphic system in black-and-white that unifies the different topics.
